| Description | The Human Services Technology curriculum prepares students for entry and mid-level positions in institutions and agencies that provide social, community, and educational services. Students will take courses from a variety of disciplines. Emphasis in core courses is placed on development of relevant knowledge, skills, and attitudes in human services. Fieldwork experience will provide opportunities for application of knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. Graduates should qualify for positions in mental health, childcare, family services, social services, rehabilitation, correction, and educational agencies. |
| Award | The Associate in Applied Science Degree - Human Services Technology is awarded by the College upon completion of this program. |
| Admissions | • Complete required CPCC application. • Submit high school transcripts as well as any college transcripts. • Take required placement tests. • Complete required Developmental Studies reading and writing classes with a C or better. • Many courses have prerequisites or corequisites; check the Course Descriptions section for details. |

| Additional Information | Program Accreditation Some Human Services Technology courses have been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) for Professional Counselor (NCC) renewal credit. Please check with Human Services program chairs for specific course information. Human Services Technology/Substance Abuse courses may be used in applying for certification by the North Carolina Professional Substance Abuse Certification Board. |
