Marketing and Retailing Concentration (A2512F)
| Description | Marketing and Retailing is a concentration under the curriculum title of Business Administration. The curriculum is designed to provide students with fundamental skills in marketing and retailing. Course work includes marketing, retailing, merchandising, selling, advertising, computer technology, and management. Graduates should qualify for marketing positions within manufacturing, retailing, and service organizations. |
| Award | The Associate in Applied Science Degree Business Administration Marketing and Retailing is awarded by the College upon completion of this program. A certificate in Marketing and Retailing is also available upon completion of 17 hours of required courses. |
| Admissions | A high school diploma or equivalent is required. In order to be placed in English and mathematics courses, students must take computerized placement tests in reading, English and math. A counseling/orientation appointment follows placement testing. Many courses have prerequisites or co-requisites; check the Course Descriptions section for details. |
| Additional Information | Transferring to Senior Institution Students intending to transfer to a senior institution should check with the senior institution for that colleges general education, program requirements, and GPA in order to transfer courses more effectively. Information on transfer institutions is available through the Business and Accounting Division Office. Students enrolled in the Marketing and Retailing Program who think they may decide at a later time to transfer to a senior institution should take MAT 161 College Algebra or MAT 140 Survey of Mathematics. |
