Business Administration Human Resources Management Concentration (A2512C)
Description Human Resources Management is a concentration under the curriculum title of Business Administration. This curriculum is designed to meet the demands of business and service agencies. The objective is the development of generalists and specialists in the administration, training, and management of human resources. Course work includes studies in management, interviewing, placement, needs assessment, planning, compensation and benefits, and training techniques. Also included are topics such as people skills, learning approaches, skill building, and development of instructional and training materials. Graduates from this program will have a sound business educational base for life-long learning. Students will be prepared for employment opportunities in personnel, training, and other human resource development areas. 
Award The Associate in Applied Science Degree – Business Administration – Human Resources Management is awarded by the College upon completion of this program. An eighteen (18) hour Human Resources Generalist Certificate is also available.
Admissions • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. • In order to be placed in English and mathematics courses, students must take computerized placement tests in reading, English, and math. • A counseling/orientation appointment follows placement testing. • Many courses have prerequisites or corequisites; check the Course Descriptions section for details. 
Additional Information Transferring to Senior Institution Students intending to transfer to a senior institution should check with the senior institution for that college’s general education, program requirements, and GPA in order to transfer courses more effectively. Information on transfer institutions is available through the Business and Accounting Division Office. Students enrolled in the Human Resources Management program who think they may decide at a later time to transfer to a senior institution should take MAT 161 – College Algebra or MAT 140 – Survey of Mathematics.
